Frequently asked questions

What services does Quest ID provide?

Quest ID provides professional fingerprinting, identity verification, and documentation support services. We assist clients who need fingerprints and background-check–related documentation for immigration, residency, visas, employment, licensing, and international use. Services may be provided in person or through approved mobile or remote processes, depending on the destination country and agency requirements.

Do I have to travel to the United States to get my fingerprints taken?

No. In most cases, you do not need to travel to the United States to have your fingerprints taken. Fingerprints can often be collected outside the U.S. by a qualified provider and submitted to the appropriate agency, as long as they meet official requirements.

Can I get my fingerprints taken in Costa Rica?

Yes. If you are located in Costa Rica, Quest ID provides professional fingerprinting services locally.

While some police stations in Costa Rica may offer fingerprinting services at no cost, many of our clients prefer not to use this option. Police stations are often busy, the process can be stressful, and fingerprint quality may be inconsistent. Poor-quality fingerprints can lead to rejections and delays from agencies like the FBI or RCMP.

Do I have to go to a police station to get my fingerprints taken for an FBI

No. You are generally not required to go to a police station to have your fingerprints taken for an FBI Identity History Summary or an RCMP background check. Fingerprints may be taken by an authorized or qualified fingerprinting service, as long as they follow the correct procedures and formats required by the receiving agency.

Are fingerprints taken by Quest ID accepted by agencies like the FBI or RCM

Yes. Fingerprints taken by Quest ID are accepted by agencies such as the FBI and the RCMP because they are completed according to the required standards. We routinely assist clients with fingerprinting for FBI Identity History Summary checks, RCMP background checks, and immigration or residency-related applications. Quest ID specializes in producing high-quality ink fingerprint cards that meet agency specifications, helping minimize the risk of rejection or processing delays.

What types of fingerprinting do you offer?

Quest ID provides ink-based fingerprinting only. We do not offer live scan fingerprinting. Ink fingerprint cards are widely accepted for international, FBI, RCMP, and immigration-related background check applications.

Do I need an appointment, or do you accept walk-ins?

Appointments are required. This allows us to give each client focused, uninterrupted attention and ensures proper preparation for your specific needs. Walk-ins are not accepted.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment directly through our website using the online booking system. Available times reflect real-time availability. Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation email with next steps.

Are appointments confirmed automatically?

Some appointments require manual approval. If approval is required, you’ll receive a confirmation once your request has been reviewed. This helps ensure the service selected is the right fit for your situation.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

Appointments can be rescheduled or canceled up to 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee, as the time is reserved exclusively for you.

What happens after I book?

After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email with appointment details and any preparation instructions. Please review these carefully to avoid delays or rescheduling.

Do you offer mobile or on-site services?

Yes, mobile or on-site services may be available depending on your location and the service requested. Availability and pricing for mobile services will be discussed during booking or confirmation.

What documents should I bring to my appointment?

Required documents vary by service. You’ll receive a list of what to bring in your confirmation email. If you’re unsure, contact us before your appointment so we can advise you.

Do you work with international or immigration-related documentation?

Yes. Quest ID has experience supporting clients with documentation commonly required for immigration, residency, and international processes. However, we do not provide legal advice.

Do you guarantee acceptance of documents by government agencies?

No. While we ensure services are completed accurately and professionally, acceptance is determined by the receiving agency. Requirements can vary by country, agency, and application type.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment methods include SINPE Movil, Bank transfer (US or CRC), cash (USD or CRC), Paypal, Zelle, Venmo, and Wise.

Is my personal information secure?

Yes. We take privacy and data protection seriously. Client information is handled confidentially and used only for the purpose of providing requested services.

How can I contact Quest ID?

For general questions, you can reach us through the contact form on our website or by email at amanda@quest-id.com. Appointment-specific questions should be sent using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation.

What if I’m not sure which service to book?

If you’re unsure which service applies to your situation, we recommend booking a consultation or reaching out before scheduling. We’re happy to help you choose the correct option.
